‘Carry on remembering’ – some practical ideas for prompting memories and stories when at the parties. Reminiscence is often associated with older people but it’s something we all do! People living with dementia often have clearer long term memories but we need to be creative about how we help bring these back.

Please bring along an object or picture associated with an important memory in your life.

The session will be led by the wonderful Sally Knocker from Dementia Care Matters, who uses her background in drama therapy to help care homes think creatively about how to support people living  with dementia. Sally is passionate about more ‘being with’ and less ‘doing for’ people and is a fantastic source of inspiration for communicating with people living with dementia.
